Social Commitment

In a context where most companies have the tendency to reduce their workforce, Hysacam has rather quadrupled its workforce in less than ten years. From 1,000 employees in the early 2000s, the company now employs more than 4,000 staff permanently.

Avant-garde social policy

In Hysacam, we have redesigned wage regulation standards and improved on them. We hire our cleaners in category 2 echelon A. Rather than 3 years to change echelons as required by law, our employees change echelons every two years.

Specifically, after 4 years at HYSACAM, employees recruited in category 2A automatically switch to 3A. These advancements are not only specific to cleaners, but to all socio-professional categories of the company.

The implementation of the new collective agreement for the Public Works sector has also resulted in a reclassification of staff and a significant increase in salaries.

High-end housing for staff

Employees have acquired pieces of land with an average area of 300 square meters. The cost of housing varies between 5 million and 7 million francs CFA depending on the category requested. This is as a result of the Convention that has signed between Hysacam and Crédit Foncier du Cameroun since 2016.

As part of the policy of social support for employees, the Company has launched the "Cités Hysacam" project. An Agreement that the Company has signed with Crédit Foncier du Cameroun allows any employee to benefit from a loan at a low interest rate (5%) which opens up three possibilities:

  • Acquire land in order to build. The Company will be able to accompany him by offering him a home at a lower cost with local materials.
  • Complete the acquisition of land
  • Complete the construction of a house.

The Hysacam-Land Credit Convention is one of the illustrations of the Company's social commitment, which is concerned with taking into account the needs of stabilization, progression and promotion of staff.

Scholarships for staff children

Hysacam has made a commitment to accompany the children of staff by awarding scholarships to the most deserving, in partnership with the Higher Institute of Technologies of Central Africa, and the French Institute of Cameroon.

Health insurance and pooling

All HYSACAM staff and their families benefit from health insurance that covers 80% of health expenses. To make up for delays due to the administration of the insurance system, we negotiated agreements with pharmacies and health facilities for real-time intervention.

We have also set up a mutual insurance company that allows employees to supplement the remaining 20% as quickly as possible. On a daily basis, this mutual insurance company, whose capitalization throughout the company is estimated at more than 300,000,000 (three hundred million CFA francs) comes to the first needs.

HIV/AIDS Policy

We have signed an agreement with the National AIDS Control Committee for the prevention and care of people with the AIDS Virus within our company. This convention is underway, through regular screening campaigns for employees and their families, and the care of people with the virus.

Training and Promotion

Staff training has acquired an important place in the company's strategy. Regular training is given to employees at different levels of specialization (manoeuvres, mechanics, executives, etc.) by reference structures both in Cameroon and abroad.

The company's ambition is to see employees evolve. There is no longer any question of an employee recruited as a labourer retiring as a labourer. Internal training is organized to advance the best. Thus, more than twenty maneuvers have become technicians today, in particular drivers, electricians... It is also a result that three drivers were trained at the Army Technical Training Center to become driving instructors. They are now available to train in-house and facilitate the professional development of employees.

Award of the best employees

A strategy to reward the best employees in each department is also in place. Employees who have distinguished themselves as the best performers receive rewards ranging from 200,000 to 1,000,000 CFA francs.
